Driving test pass rates, every centre ranked
All 314 car test centres with a published rate, highest first, next to the waiting time at each. The national average was 50%, so half of everybody fails, and where you sit it moves that by more than thirty points.

Is there an easiest test centre?
Not in the way the question is usually meant, and the answer matters less than it used to.
The spread is real. It is also mostly a description of who books where. A centre ringed by quiet rural roads passes more people than one in a city with four lane gyratories and buses, and the candidates differ too. The marking does not: examiners are trained and audited to the same standard everywhere, and the fault sheet is the same sheet.
What has changed is that shopping around is largely closed off anyway. Since 9 June 2026 you can only move an existing test to one of the three centres nearest the one you are booked at, or to a centre you first booked at. Booking a first test is still open, but moving one is a choice between a handful of neighbours.
If a nearby centre does have a better record, the thing worth weighing is not the percentage. It is whether you have driven those roads. Sitting a test somewhere you have never driven is a bigger risk than a few points of pass rate, and every centre page here lists the ones it can swap with and how far away they are.

Questions
What the number does and does not tell you
Which driving test centre has the highest pass rate?
Melton Mowbray, at 69.7% in 2025-26, among centres doing at least a thousand car tests a year. Smaller centres go higher still, but a few hundred tests is a small enough sample that one quiet year moves the figure a long way.
Which has the lowest?
Wolverhampton, at 34.3%. It is a busy urban centre, and the pattern holds across the table: city centres sit well below the national average and rural ones well above it.
Is there an easiest driving test centre?
Not in the way the question is usually meant. The spread is real, but a pass rate mostly describes who books there rather than how hard the examiners are: centres surrounded by fast rural roads and light traffic pass more people than centres in dense cities. The examiner marking is the same everywhere.
Can I book a test at a centre with a better pass rate?
You can book a first test anywhere. Moving an existing one is different: since 9 June 2026 you can only move to one of the three centres nearest the one you are booked at, or to a centre you first booked at. So for most learners the choice is between a handful of nearby centres rather than the whole country.
What is the national pass rate?
50% for car tests in 2025-26, up from 48.7% the year before, across 1,992,551 tests at the centres listed here. Half of everybody fails.

Your date matters more than your centre
You can move a test to one of three neighbours. You cannot move it to a date another learner is holding, unless they want yours. That is what the board is for.
